history until the 2017 Las Vegas shooting. There's also Fun Hog Ranch and the Eagle. On June 12, 2016, Omar Mateen, a 29-year-old man, killed 49 people and wounded 53 more in a mass shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Although there isnt really a gay neighborhood, the majority of the citys gay bars and clubs are clustered around the Fruit Loop, on Paradise Road near East. Flex can be hit or miss but it's fun to stop in there for a drink or two. Nightly entertainment, drink specials, and Thursday-night. Phoenix is usually pretty busy and skews towards a younger crowd. Below is a list of some gay and lesbian hot spots in Las Vegas. On the west side we have Phoenix and Flex.
If you make it to Commercial Center on East Sahara you'll find the Spotlight Lounge and Badlands, two neighborhood bars, plus our two gay bathhouses, Entourage and Hawks (which in my opinion are both rather weak compared to bathhouses in other cities). They also offer 2-for-1 all day and are the oldest continuously operating gay bar in Vegas. The same owners also have the only gay bar in the downtown area, called Bastille. The Garage is a very nice bar, it's clean, well run and has 2-for-1 happy hour all day until 7pm. The newest club is called Flair and it's almost directly across the street from The Garage on Flamingo and has some of the same bartenders and dancers that used to be at Share.
Weds is the most popular night, when you drink for free in your underwear. Sahara Ave., East Side FreeZone BARS/PUBS An egalitarian.
Also in that neighborhood is Charlies, which is a big bar with a dance floor and feels a little country even though the music is usually more Dance and Top 40. GAY AND LESBIAN Las Vegas was never really known for gay tourism. It's right behind the Orleans off Tropicana. It's fun but doesn't really get the business it deserves imho.
In the same neighborhood we now have Krush, which used to be Rendezvous. Only five minutes West from the famous Las Vegas Strip lies the newest gay owned and operated all male social experience. Share used to be a really cool club but it closed last year. It's also at that same intersection, across from Quadz and Piranha. (Quads is a bar, way cheaper drinks, chill crowd.) Freezone is a smaller club that usually gets pretty busy. Go to Piranha for the crowd, the lights, the music and dancing, but then go across the street to Quads to get your drinks and to chill. Piranha is currently the only really popular gay club in Vegas. The Village Square Commercial Center (953 E Sahara), an open air shopping mall built in 1960, has over 150 unique shops & restaurants.
